Personalizing Outcomes after Child Cardiac Arrest (POCCA)

This multicenter observational study will validate a panel of serum, imaging, and clinical biomarkers to classify child outcomes after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Filling a critical gap in knowledge, this work will provide clinicians, families, and researchers with tools that provide early and accurate functional outcome appraisal. Given that these children are at high risk of functional and cognitive disability, longer term applications of this research include using biomarkers to personalize clinical and rehabilitative interventions that improve child outcomes.
